Steel structure fabrication processing is not complicated, and it is basically mechanized, but the quality of steel structure processing is uneven. The difference in the processing quality of steel components will directly lead to price differences. The processing cost of steel structures is relatively transparent. At present, the cost of ordinary processing components in the industry is about US$200 per ton. If it is lower than this price, the quality is generally difficult to guarantee. For complex steel structure projects with high quality requirements, the fabrication cost may double.
So how to ensure the fabrication quality of steel components?
- Ensure the quality of steel material. The quality and thickness of steel will affect the fabrication processing quality. If the designed steel plate is thin, it is very easy to bend during processing. Therefore, when designing and fabricating, it is necessary to consider choosing suitable high-quality steel as the first step to ensure the quality of steel structures.
- The fabrication steel factory must have its own quality control system. For example, when choosing a high-quality steel supplier, the materials must be inspected and accepted when entering the factory; before fabricating, the drawings must be reviewed and technical briefings must be done; each process has quality inspection personnel to carry out quality control, and problems are discovered and solved in time; the processed components must be numbered for easy proofreading and on-site installation, etc.
- The factory equipment should be complete. Nowadays, steel structure fabrication is mainly mechanized, which is not only high-precision but also quality-guaranteed. If the equipment is backward, not only can the production quality not be guaranteed, but also the processing efficiency will be greatly reduced.
- The size of the fabrication steel factory has nothing to do with the processing quality. Don’t use the size of the factory to deny or determine a factory, but mainly observe whether the factory’s processing procedures are orderly and the quality of the component processing. If the factory has its own complete quality control system, the overall fabrication quality will not be bad. Especially for factories that often process export orders, the quality requirements are generally strict, and the habit of quality control has basically been formed, so the overall quality can be completely assured. On the contrary, even if the factory is large, without a relatively complete quality control system and strong quality inspection personnel, the processing quality will be very general.
When choosing a steel structure supplier, especially for overseas processing, price is one aspect, and quality should still be put first. The quality and safety of steel structure buildings are of great importance. Whether it is a large project or a small project, quality should be put first. Choosing an experienced and professional supplier will be smoother in both communication and cooperation, easier to meet quality requirements, and smoother in the later installation process.
